Team USA weren’t the only ones to embarrass themselves at the Ryder Cup this weekend.
Comedian and actress Heather McMahan, who was working as master of ceremonies at the first tee at Bethpage Black, stepped down from her role after being caught on video leading “F–k you, Rory” chants directed at Rory McIlroy.
The PGA of America announced in a statement Sunday morning that McMahan would not return to her role for the final day of the Ryder Cup.
“Heather McMahan has extended an apology to Rory McIlroy and Ryder Cup Europe and has stepped down from hosting the first tee of the Ryder Cup,” the statement said.

Spectators’ treatment of McIlroy became a story when McIlroy told fans on Saturday morning to “shut the f–k up” after being heckled while lining up a shot. In the afternoon, he also had to wait for fans to quiet down multiple times before putting on the fourth green.
“I don’t mind them having a go at us,” McIlroy told reporters. “Like, that’s to be expected. I mean, that’s what an away Ryder Cup is. Whenever they are still doing it while you are over the ball and trying to hit your shot, that’s the tough thing.
