The official cause of death for Ozzy Osbourne has now been disclosed, following the rock icon’s death last month at the age of 76.
Osbourne died on July 22 and was laid to rest beside the lake on the grounds of his Buckinghamshire estate during a private ceremony last Thursday.
His death came shortly after his final stage appearance – a powerful farewell show in Birmingham, the city where his music career first took flight, the Sun reported.
During that performance, Ozzy delivered a five-song solo set, including a moving rendition of ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home,’ with fans illuminating the venue with their phone lights.
He concluded with ‘Crazy Train,’ which was met with a shower of confetti over a packed Villa Park.
After a brief pause, the iconic singer returned to the stage, reuniting with Black Sabbath for the first time in 20 years. They performed several classics, ending the night with ‘Paranoid.’

In what would be his last interview, Osbourne described the emotional concert as his ‘final encore’ and said it meant ‘everything.’
For the historic performance, he was seated on a striking black bat throne, singing alongside the original members of Black Sabbath.
The concert marked his last live appearance, a decision driven by the progression of his health challenges, including his 2020 disclosure of Parkinson’s disease.
The farewell event, titled Back To The Beginning, also featured an all-star lineup of rock artists, with proceeds dedicated to charity. In a touching personal moment, his daughter Kelly Osbourne became engaged to Sid Wilson during the concert.

A private funeral was held at the Osbournes’ 250-acre property, where a family friend described the service as ‘incredibly emotional.’
Tents were set up across the estate, and a stage hosted heartfelt tributes to the legendary musician.
Attendees received a keepsake photo of Ozzy and were surrounded by images commemorating his life.
Roughly 110 close family and friends attended, including his wife Sharon, children Jack, Kelly, Aimee, and Louis (his son from his first marriage to Thelma Riley).
Among the mourners were a host of famous faces from the rock world: Black Sabbath bandmates, Metallica’s James Hetfield, Yungblud, Sir Elton John, Marilyn Manson, Zakk Wylde, and Slipknot’s Corey Taylor all paid their respects to the heavy metal pioneer, per Mail Online.
According to Osbourne’s death certificate, the former Black Sabbath frontman died from acute myocardial infarction and out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, the New York Times reports.
“A heart attack (myocardial infarction) is a medical emergency where your heart muscle begins to die because it isn’t getting enough blood flow,” explains the Cleveland Clinic.
Coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction were listed as contributing conditions.
