Justin Bieber has once again become a topic of public concern after his mom’s cryptic prayer post sparked worry among fans.
The 31-year-old pop star has faced ongoing scrutiny about his well-being in recent months, with fans expressing concern over his mental health, marriage, and various social media posts.
Earlier this year, Bieber’s team pushed back against speculation, telling TMZ that concern about his mental and physical health was ‘exhausting and pitiful,’ insisting he was focused on fatherhood and new music.
Bieber has been open about his struggles with fame, mental health, and physical illness in recent years.
In 2022, he was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused partial facial paralysis. Despite these challenges, he’s been experiencing a musical resurgence with two new albums: ‘Swag’ (released in July) and ‘Swag II’ (released in September), which feature religious themes and address personal struggles.
The singer and his wife, Hailey Bieber, welcomed their first child, son Jack Blues, in August and celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary in September.

On September 22, Pattie Mallette, 50, posted a series of black-and-white photos of her son on Instagram, accompanied by an emotional prayer that immediately caught fans’ attention.
Bieber and Mallette have had a complicated relationship over the years. The pair were estranged from 2013 to 2015 during a turbulent period when Bieber’s behavior, including being found guilty of assault and careless driving in Canada, was making headlines.
In a 2015 interview with Billboard, Bieber described their connection as ‘pretty nonexisting’ at the time.
“I was distant because I was ashamed. I never wanted my mom to be disappointed in me and I knew she was,” he explained. “We spent some time not talking, so it takes time to rebuild that trust.”
The two reconciled in 2018, when Mallette shared a photo of them hugging on Instagram. “I’m so proud of the amazing young man you are, and the young man you are becoming,” she wrote at the time. “I admire your character and integrity.”
However, reports suggest they have not been as close as they once were since the reconciliation. Mallette now lives in Hawaii, making regular contact more challenging.

“We’re cheering you on and praying for you always Justin,” her controversial post began, before launching into a lengthy spiritual plea.
“I declare freedom, strength, clarity, and healing over you Justin,” Mallette wrote. “Every chain of fear, confusion, heaviness, and pain – be broken in Jesus’ name. Holy Spirit, surround him with TRUTH, LIGHT, and PROTECTION. HEAL EVERY WOUND in his heart, mind and body, seen and unseen, restore what’s been stolen, and cover him in WHOLENESS.”
She continued: “Fill him to OVERFLOWING with Your LOVE and COMFORT. Continue to raise him up as a voice for Your Kingdom, unshaken and on fire for You Lord. Silence every voice that doesn’t come from You, and let his life be a bold witness of Your power, love, and healing grace. Say amen if you agree.”
The post, which included a photo of Bieber wearing a shirt reading ‘Pray for Me,’ drew thousands of supportive comments from fans and fellow believers. Many expressed concern, with one user writing: “Amen Pattie, remind him for me we are going through this together, and God’s plan will always ultimately prevail.”
However, others tried to reassure worried fans that nothing was wrong, with one comment noting: “It’s just a mother’s prayer.”

Two weeks later, on October 5, Bieber finally responded to his mother’s heartfelt post, but his comment was far from what fans expected.
“Only thing I need healing from is my rolled pinky toe from playing ping pong,” he wrote in a brief, sarcastic reply that appeared to brush aside all of his mother’s concerns.
The dismissive response shocked many observers and raised questions about the current state of Bieber’s relationship with his mother.
It remains unclear what specifically prompted Mallette’s public prayer or what she was referencing in her emotional post.
Interestingly, just two days before his mother’s prayer post, Bieber had shared his own thoughts about faith on Instagram, posting screenshots of text about religion and coping with fame.
“Jesus teaches that our effort is simply a response to being gifted life and forgiveness,” he wrote. “Jesus becomes the prize. And growth becomes something you desire because of the grace we have received.”
Despite the apparent tension with his mother, Bieber appears to be moving forward professionally.
He’s set to headline Coachella 2026, reportedly securing a record-breaking paycheck of more than $10 million – the highest in the festival’s history.
