Genius Apple iOS 26 feature that’s making Android users switch back to iPhone

There is a genius Apple iOS 26 feature that is making Android users make the switch back to iPhone.

With the operating system upgrade expected to drop for Apple users next month, many people have been sharing their thoughts on the rumored features.

And one feature in particular has got a lot of people talking on social media, with some even considering making the jump over the Apple from Android to get their hands on it.

On Reddit, one post detailed how ‘iOS 26 developer beta 4’ is bringing in the ability to ‘silence unknown callers to call screening’.

Many users took to the comment section to share their own thoughts on the matter, with one writing: “iOS 26 call screening is the best feature in years.”

Another said: “This! It’s making me come back to iOS from Android.”

A third person commented: “Wait, so if I understand this correctly, there are three options. (1) Never, (2) Ask reason for Calling, or (3) Silence.

“I don’t have the beta, but is there not an ability to decide on the fly for “call screening”. For example, if I am expecting a call from a not saved number, it will ring, but if I get an unknown number calling me that I am not expecting, my phone rings but I can “manually” send it to call screening from the call page.”

And a fourth added: “On 26 it puts an option for “voicemail” on the call screen. That leads to visual voicemail where you can watch them talk.”

On the Apple website, it explained: “Manage unwanted calls. Call Screening automatically answers unknown callers without interrupting you. Once the caller shares their name and the reason for their call, your phone rings and you can decide if you want to pick up.”

The page added: “Screen new senders. Approve unknown numbers with new screening tools that detect spam and give you control over who appears in your conversations in Messages, and your recent calls in Phone and FaceTime.”

What other features are expected to drop with iOS 26?

Other new features include the introduction of polls in Messages, where users will be able to ‘create a poll to let the group chat decide’ so that ‘everyone in the conversation can contribute options and watch as votes come in’.

Another feature in Messages will enable users to add a background to any conversation by choosing ‘any of your own photos to bring a distinct personality to your Messages conversations’.

iPhone iOS 26 feature goes viral as it tempts users to switch to Apple Music

Apple Music fans will now be able to automix their tunes

A new iPhone iOS 26 feature has gone viral as it is now tempting users to switch over to Apple Music.

At this year’s WWDC event, Apple made a series of exciting announcements including the introduction of iOS 26.

Instead of going from iOS 18 to 19, the tech giant has made the decision to skip the next seven versions and jump straight to 26.

And it’s not without good reason – this move is to make all of the operating system upgrade sync with the calendar year.

The latest version is expected to drop in September of this year, and iPhone fans have been eager to find out exactly what the update will entail – and one feature in particular has got everyone talking.

The new feature is being added to Apple Music and it’s making people want to make the switch over to the music streaming service.

Known as AutoMix, the function is an AI tool that has the ability to create unique and instant mixes in between songs.

The feature has caused quite a stir on social media, with many admitting that they now want to make the switch.

On Reddit, one user wrote: “Tried automix and all I got to say is Spotify better get cooking or am switching permanently. Spotify hasn’t been moving right these days, they too relaxed. Apple Music keeps introducing new exciting features, they only have to improve their algorithm to win everyone over.”

Another said: “Nows def the time to switch to Apple music.”

And a third person added: “It’s definitely using AI because it works REALLY well if you listen to a song the whole way through then transition to the next but if you just skip to near the end of a song it usually doesn’t work that well.”

It seems to have even caught the attention of Android users, with one saying: “Now let’s hope these or at least some of these also come to Android.”

Other features added to Apple Music

That isn’t the only new feature you can expect on Apple Music with the iOS 26 update.

Users will also be able to use Lyrics Translation and Lyrics Pronunciation to better enjoy their user experience.

Music Pins are also being added to the app, where you will now be able to pin your favorite albums and artists to the top of your home screen.

iPhone users notice ‘hidden’ detail in iOS 26 they slam as reason ‘why Apple is failing’

A secret detail has been added to the mail app

iPhone users have been left shocked after noticing a ‘hidden’ detail in the upcoming iOS 26 update.

And not everyone is too pleased with the secret feature after some social media users slam it as being the reason ‘why Apple is failing’.

Taking to Reddit, one user shared the news that Apple’s new mail icon includes a small detail that is so tiny, it’s easy to miss.

In a post, they wrote: “Fun fact: The new mail icon includes Apple’s address written on the envelope

“It says ‘Apple Park, California 95014’. I love when they put lots of attention into small details like this. Definitely reminds me of their skeuomorphism days with this amount of detail, only now it’s neumorphic.”

This prompted replies from others, with one person writing: “I’m just happy they fixed the background gradient. Most of the other icons go from light on top to dark on the bottom except mail.”

Another said: “Interesting but what’s even the purpose at that scale?”

A third joked: “This is what everyone has been waiting for. Our troubles are over.”

And a fourth user added: “Good riddance to the flat icons. I’m tired of looking at them. In this comparison the right side looks better.”

However, not everyone was happy with the detail, with others taking to the Reddit comment section to criticize the move.

One user said: “I’d be more impressed if it had mine.”

Another wrote: “Ugh, I hate this 3D art. We [are] going back to that old era again.”

And a third person commented: “This is why Apple is failing haha.”

Receiving a reply, another user made the point: “They spend more time hiding font size 2 street addresses throughout their OSes than they do bug fixes. No wonder they’re only worth $3Trillion.”

Apple made the announcement earlier this month at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) that it would be skipping the iOS 19 update.

The upgrade was expected to drop later this year but inside, it has had a name change, now going by iOS 26.

This is due to the tech giant making the decision to have its operating system versions go by calendar years.

The shift will affect every Apple product, so expect the next update on your device to include iPadOS 26, macOS 26, tvOS 26, visionOS 26 and watchOS 26.

Android users all point out same ‘flaw’ as iPhone fans get first look at new iOS 18 photo update

People are arguing that the latest iOS 18 feature is nothing new

Android users have all pointed out the same ‘flaw’ in a new iPhone feature after fans got a first look at an iOS 18 photo update.

There’s a buzz around next week’s Apple announcement with the upcoming event set to reveal a host of new features coming with the operating system upgrade.

The tech firm is also expected to unveil the new iPhone 16 and has been teasing new features that Apple fans will soon be able to put to use.

However, there is one particular new addition that has given Android users something to say.

The new function for Apple is called the “Clean Up” feature which is an Apple Intelligence tool that removes any unwanted people or objects from photos on iOS 18.1 Beta.

Users that have been trialing the beta version of the operating system have been able to have a go at cleaning up their pics using the tool.

However, the unveiling of the new feature has caused a bit of a stir on social media, with some people arguing that it’s nothing new and it’s something that users have been able to do on Android for years.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one person simply wrote: “Android did it first …..catch up @Apple”, while another said: “But this has introduced to android earlier.”

A third user claimed: “My Samsung has been able to do this for at least a year now.” And another added: “Google photos had this for ages.”

Some were still excited that the tool will now be available for Apple fans, with one person saying: “Finally! I can stop asking people with android phones to erase people out of my photos. Thank you Apple’s ‘Clean Up’ feature.”

And another Apple fan said: “It’s an old android feature. But when Apple does it, it will have lot of perfection.”

A tech expert has shed some insight on what we can expect from the Apple event on September 9, which the company have called “Glowtime”.

The expert, Fernando Silva, shared that the iPhone 16 will be unveiled and went on to say that the phone will have Apple Intelligence support, as well as “a capture button for controlling the camera app”.

The phone will also be equipped with a 5x telephoto lens, something that only previously applied to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

However, he warned: “The new iPhones will be equipped with iOS 18.0 which will not have Apple Intelligence at all, regardless of which iPhone you actually get.

“So, do keep that in mind that 18.1 will be the first time that we see Apple Intelligence on these iPhones and that probably won’t come out until the late October time.”Featured Image Credit: Filip Radwanski/Pavlo Gonchar/SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images

Urgent warning issued to all iPhone users following release of iOS 18.6

Urgent warning issued to all iPhone users following release of iOS 18.6

Apple urges users to install crucial fix

Apple has pushed out a fresh update for iPhones, iOS 18.6, and security experts are urging everyone to install it immediately. The update comes with a hefty package of 29 security fixes, some of which patch serious holes that could otherwise leave your data vulnerable to attack.

While Apple has been tight-lipped on the finer details, saying little to give hackers as little time as possible to exploit the flaws, it’s clear this isn’t an update to ignore. According to Apple’s own support page, many of the issues relate to WebKit, the engine that powers Safari.

One of these flaws, tracked as CVE-2025-4322, could allow sensitive information to leak if a user visits a malicious website. Other bugs could cause memory corruption, also triggered by dodgy web content.

On top of that, iOS 18.6 fixes a weakness in CoreMedia Playback that could let an app gain access to sensitive user data – not exactly the sort of thing you want left hanging around on your phone. Daniel Card, an independent cybersecurity consultant, highlighted one particularly concerning problem that’s been addressed.

Card warned that the flaw could see your passcode read out by VoiceOver, while another issue could allow address bar spoofing if you stumbled onto a malicious website.

Sean Wright, head of application security at Featurespace, pointed out that the majority of flaws patched in this release are WebKit-based.

He said: “Which by its very nature are more likely to be exploited remotely”. While most of the bugs are considered limited in impact, Wright added that flaws such as CVE-2025-43227 “carry more risk” than others.

iOS 18.6 isn’t the only update Apple has issued this week. Older iPads that can’t make the jump to iPadOS 18 are getting iPadOS 17.7.9, another security-only patch worth grabbing as soon as possible. On top of that, Apple has rolled out updates for its other products, including macOS Sequoia 15.6, watchOS 11.6 for the Apple Watch, tvOS 18.6 for Apple TV and visionOS for the Vision Pro headset.

The last major iPhone update, iOS 18.5, came out in mid-May, meaning there’s been a gap of over two months between releases. With iOS 26 expected to drop this autumn, this could well be the final patch before then unless an emergency fix is needed.

As well as plugging security gaps, iOS 18.6 clears up a few irritating bugs, including one in Photos that stopped memory movies from being shared.

Wright says: “Overall, there is no reason to panic, but I would highly recommend that users update to iOS 18.6 as soon as possible to be on the safe side”. Card also advised making sure you have enough space in iCloud before hitting download. He said: “Some people have their iCloud full, so not only do their device back-ups not work, their updates fail”.

If you’ve got an iPhone XS or later, you can grab iOS 18.6 now by heading to Settings > General > Software Update. It might not sound exciting, but installing it could save you a big headache later on.Featured Image Credit: Getty
