A body language expert has revealed what Erika Kirk’s ‘inappropriate’ hug with JD Vance really meant, as rumors circulate.
It’s been almost two months since the death of Charlie Kirk, a MAGA activist who was brutally shot in the neck at a Turning Point USA event held on a university campus in Utah.
Kirk was outspoken about his conservative beliefs, and was targeted by 22-year-old Tyler Robinson.
Robinson now faces trial, after being charged with murder, causing bodily injury with a firearm, and obstruction of justice.
Kirk’s widow, Erika Kirk, has been seen publicly numerous times following her husband’s death.
She joined President Donald Trump on stage during Charlie’s memorial and featured on his podcast as the new CEO of TPUSA, the organization her husband founded at 18.
Helping her through the unimaginable grief, among many, is the Vice President, JD Vance, who was a close friend of Kirk’s.
He ensured Kirk’s body was transported back to his family home in Arizona on board Air Force Two.
In the months that followed, Vance has been a comforting support to Erika, who is navigating the grief while raising her two young children.
But during a recent Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi, an ‘awkward’ photo of Erika and Vance went viral online.
The two could be seen hugging tightly with their bodies pressed up against each other.
Erika brought her hand up to Vance’s hair, and when they let go, Vance’s hand dropped to her hip.
Some users branded the moment ‘inappropriate,’ and it’s safe to say it’s been controversial.
One said: “The way Erika Kirk and JD Vance hugged was inappropriate.”
Another added: “Erika Kirk with an inappropriate greeting in Mississippi – a romantic like bear hug & over the top hair grab on JD Vance. Too passionate.”
And Erika only fuelled the rumors after an interview on Fox News.
The mom-of-two said: “No one will ever replace Charlie….but I do see some similarities of my husband in JD. Vice President JD Vance.”
Another online added: “You better not hug my man like that lol.”
As somebody else said: “Wildly inappropriate. No boundaries.”
Others defended the widow, as one noted: “I can’t keep my mouth shut anymore.
“The BS about Erika Kirk and JD Vance is so disgusting on so many levels. It’s not funny.
“Not only is Erika grieving the loss of her husband, but JD has a beautiful wife, our Second Lady, whom he loves.”
Now, a body language expert has spoken out, revealing what the moment really meant.
Speaking to Yahoo News, Traci Brown, a body language expert and behavior analyst, said: “That’s a super-intimate move, but beyond that, it controls his attention – so, she’s controlling what he’s looking at.”
Another expert, Patti Wood, said: “Besides the pelvis placement, is she’s running her hands through his hair.
“She’s got her hands inside of his hair, and if you look at the fingers, there’s a tightening, that’s a curling around of the fingers, meaning she is pulling him closer.”
But communication expert, Karen Donaldson, revealed that their body language represented a comfortable relationship, and nothing more.
She said: “It suggests, or signals, she’s comfortable. And there’s some type of familiarity there. He’s familiar to her as well.”
Brown added: “Could it be a deep friendship? Yeah.
“Could it be more than that? Absolutely.
“Is there any one move that says, ‘Hey, they’re a couple now?’ No, there’s not.”
